2. God’s Promise of Seedtime and Harvest and Sparing of the Earth for mankind

Genesis 8:20-22 -

20 Then Noah built an altar to the LORD, and took of every clean animal and of every clean bird, and offered burnt offerings on the altar. 21 And the LORD smelled a soothing aroma. Then the LORD said in His heart, “I will never again curse the ground for man’s sake, although the imagination of man’s heart is evil from his youth; nor will I again destroy every living thing as I have done.


22 “While the earth remains,
Seedtime and harvest,
Cold and heat,
Winter and summer,
And day and night
Shall not cease.”


This beautiful promise, God spoke to Himself, but as all God’s promises are concrete and true we see evidence of this one today. I found this Promise particularly wonderful because, these are things that fall upon all man regardless of whether they acknowledge God or not. His love is as such, that it has be laid and poured out throughout the earth.


For the sake of you and I, God promise never to curse the earth as He has done before, even though from birth our hearts are wicked and evil. What is God telling us here. I believe this has allot more to do with God’ heart towards us.
In genesis 3:21 which reads :


Also for Adam and his wife the LORD God made tunics of skin, and clothed them.
God’s love towards us is without description. Right after we disobeyed, not only did He promise to that He would overcome the enemy which deceives us, but more so He also clothed us before He sent us out of the garden.


This promise, God made for us. That He would not curse the earth again has He done before, it’s a promise of security from such an event taking place again. It’s also a Promise that also in it gives direction as to why God moved this promise and that is found in “for man’s sake”, Which can be translated to “for mankind”. We witness God’s Mercy here because He both merciful towards Adam and Eve and merciful towards Noah and those who follow


It also reveals to us some of our nature, because God says He will not curse the earth as He had done because of the wickedness of our hearts. God also goes on to speak that He will no longer “destroy every living thing”, Since which God has never done such a thing again, Though throughout the old testament God has cursed small places and locations as such to show how displeased He was with certain behaviour.
Mankind by it’s very nature having been defiled by sin, are deserving to be cursed. God out of the abundance of His love, has turned a Blessing towards mankind.


God ultimately says, “Even though you are wicked from childhood, I will supply your need”


God just flooded the earth because of the wickedness of our hearts, Genesis 6:5 reads

“5 Then the LORD[a] saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every intent of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually. “
The first time God makes note of the Sinfulness of mankind’s nature in Genesis 6:5, it’s flooded by death and destruction, But the second time God makes this observation it is followed by His Grace and Mercy.


So there is a key lesson here, Because God excuse Noah from this sinful nature, so why doesn’t God cause death and destruction the second time. Prior to the flood, mankind was wicked in everything and did not acknowledge God, Except Noah. So Noah was saved and death and destruction fell upon the rest.


The second time God makes note of the sinfulness of man, it is after Noah made an offering to The Lord God. First thing Noah did was make an offering to God and it was “soothing” to God, another word to be used could be pleasant.
Noah believed in God and wanted to serve Him, He was grateful for what God had done for him and his family.


Noah gave God a sacrifice, and God was pleased with him, because of Christ ( Because we can not separate God’s Promise from Jesus Christ ). While we were deserving judgement and wrath, God gave us a promise and a sign.


God promises that one season will follow the last until the end of days, and day will be followed by night until the end of days.
It’s a beautiful promise and it’s reassurance of God’s order within the world, Shall remain until the end of days. If this promise wasn’t in place, then imagine if our world was unpredictable it would be in the sense of seasons, If we had 3 winters. How difficult life would be, If it wasn’t for God’s Order being established we wouldn’t have the ability to survive.


Thanks giving, the holiday has its origins here, because God promised both Seed time and Harvest. Noah gave thanks to God and it’s result was this Promise of God.
Genesis 8:22 –


22 “While the earth remains,
Seedtime and harvest,
Cold and heat,
Winter and summer,
And day and night
Shall not cease.”


It’s a promise we often take for granted, especially in countries where resources are easily accessible, but if it hadn’t been for God establishing this promise and covenant with us, we would not be able to sustain life. God is Our One and Only Provider.

God's FIrst Promise

1. Promise of Enmity and Triumph

Genesis 3:15 -

15 And I will put enmity
Between you and the woman,
And between your seed and her Seed;
He shall bruise your head,
And you shall bruise His heel.”

This is the very first promise of God, and what an amazing Promise it is. It is a foretelling of the Messiah to come, From the Fall of Man, God at the very beginning had a plan for our Redemption and that was Jesus Christ. This at first is quite a confusing scripture, because of the terms used. Enmity can be exchanged for hatred or hostility. God is saying He shall put a hatred between the seed of the serpent and the woman. It is a very deep and beautiful scripture to unpack. What we have here straight after man has rebelled against God, God is unpacking things to come in the future and speaking of the Path to Salvation, That is Christ Jesus.

So it’s said first, there is a hatred between the seed of the serpent and the seed of the woman, Now the seed of the serpent is the seed of rebellion, throughout the entire Bible, there are those who are rebellious to God. They are the “seed” or “children” of the serpent, or the enemy or satan. So the “Seed” of the Woman, who will ultimately be victorious over the serpents seed, is Jesus Christ, It is also a hint as to the Birth of Jesus Christ, as God said “her Seed” and made no mention of man’s involvement in reference to this Child.
So from the very beginning we have a Division. This is the division between, what is right with God and what is wrong before God. The seed of the enemy and the seed of the Messiah, It is said as seed and not in the pural sense, meaning singular paths. Which does give us insight as to how God views things to a certain extent, because as God has said -

James 2:8-13 says –

8 If you really fulfill the royal law according to the Scripture, “You shall love your neighbor as yourself,”you do well; 9 but if you show partiality, you commit sin, and are convicted by the law as transgressors. 10 For whoever shall keep the whole law, and yet stumble in one point, he is guilty of all. 11 For He who said, “Do not commit adultery,” also said, “Do not murder.”Now if you do not commit adultery, but you do murder, you have become a transgressor of the law. 12 So speak and so do as those who will be judged by the law of liberty. 13 For judgment is without mercy to the one who has shown no mercy. Mercy triumphs over judgment.

There is only one who was able to walk Righteously and so Triumph over the enemy that being Jesus Christ. All else fell short of God’s Standard and Sinned. The Seed God speaks of, is the same Seed God speaks of to Abraham and that is Jesus Christ and His Church.

“He shall bruise your head”

I believe is speaking to a fatal blow, The enemy tried from the Birth of Christ to try to kill Him, but was unable to as Jesus Christ reigns now and forever more in Glory being above all things.
A good scripture that confirms this –

Revelation 11:15 -

"The kingdoms of this world have become the kingdoms of our Lord and of His Christ, and He shall reign for ever and ever"

“and you shall bruise His heel”

I believe this is referring to some of the Family of God falling away, as sadly happens in the church to do, as the enemy is constantly trying to bring the Children of God to stray from His Path.

So we have a Promise both about the Jesus Christ’s Coming and about the Falling away, We also have indications as to the nature God Willed between the two, Hatred. We should have a Hatred for Sin.

Jesus Christ commanded us to be “Perfect” ( Matthew 5:48 ) though we cannot achieve this in ourselves ( Romans 3:23 ), through Him we are made as perfect ( Colossians 1:28 ), that we in Him no longer fall short of Righteousness because we walk in His Righteousness ( Colossians 1:22 ) as the Seed and Family of God ( John 1:12 ).

Turn the Light on and Search!




Luke 8:8-10 reads –



8 “Or what woman, having ten silver coins, if she loses one coin, does not light a lamp, sweep the house, and search carefully until she finds it? 9 And when she has found it, she calls her friends and neighbors together, saying, ‘Rejoice with me, for I have found the piece which I lost!’ 10 Likewise, I say to you, there is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner who repents.”




God is very thorough in His Ways, He placed us ( Believers ) in a very Blessed position. I believe it that it’s important for us to walk in that position God has called us to. In the parables in Luke 15, This is the middle one, Jesus Christ is speaking and explaining about how the Lost are important to God, and Jesus Christ.




I know times in my life, I have been in a state of being lost. Jesus Christ found me through a fellow believer and a sister. I knew God existed but I was a state mentally I didn’t know where to start looking for Him. Mostly I was fearful because I understood enough to know I was a sinner but knew nothing of God’s redemption in Jesus Christ.




A few years ago, I use to speak to many people about God, not knowing God. I use to speak about the government and how they were deceitful in there ways, all the while I was doing the exact same thing. I would speak great lengthy theories to people, to my class mates. So much so the teacher would actually allow me to speak to the whole class for an hour or so, How great that would have been if I had KNOWN God, but The words I was speaking were Death, I pray for each one of those people individually because I now realise the error of my ways but at the time,




Proverbs 15:4 says –



4 A wholesome tongue is a tree of life,
But perverseness in it breaks the spirit.




I was speaking so much but I was giving absolutely no hope. I was allow the enemy to use me and distract people from the BIGGEST question.




Who is Jesus Christ ?



I believe this solely is the biggest question we as believers need to bring towards people. It is the biggest defining point. Without Jesus Christ there is no salvation. There is no Genesis 1 or no Revelations 22.



John 1:1-5 –



1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 He was in the beginning with God. 3 All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made. 4 In Him was life, and the life was the light of men. 5 And the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it.




The reason why I’m speaking about this is simple. In the parable in Luke 15:8-10, Jesus Christ Says “if she loses one coin, does not light a lamp”




We are seeking what is Lost, but if we ourselves do not have that Light, we will be searching in the Dark. This is why we seek God before seeking what is Lost. We are that Lamp, Jesus Christ was the first and the brightest Lamp of all, We all follow Him because His Light, The Light of Life shone into our lives and He brought us out of darkness. Now we through Him are Lamps in this world, Doing as He done, searching out the lost. “Carefully”.




John 8:12 –


12 Then Jesus spoke to them again, saying, “I am the light of the world. He who follows Me shall not walk in darkness, but have the light of life.” ( A Promise from Jesus Christ )



And again in John 9:5 –




5As long as I am in the world, I am the light of the world.”




We cannot search without the Light in our lives. Otherwise even if we were to find people in the dark, by feeling around in the dark. What use are we to them ? if we can’t bring them out of that darkness.



We are useless, we simply move a person from one form of darkness to another. But there is always Hope when we are looking to the word of God, for God said in Matthew 5:14-16 -

“You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden. 15Nor do they light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house. 16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.




By accepting Christ into our lives and following Him and leaving behind our darkness ( that is repenting of our sin ). We become the Light of the World because of Christ in us. So when we encounter the Lost we have a True message of Hope and a true reason to seek after them, and a True salvation to Preach and a Light to shine into the darkness.




As we as believers move forward following Christ, it’s important for us to always seek after God, as we do such our passion and desires change from what we desire to what God desires, we continually transformed from the inside-out to a likeness to Christ ( Romans 12:1-2, 2 Corinthians 3:18 ). So when we walk in and out of situations our character is ever changing for the better as we hold onto Jesus Christ ( Romans 5:1-5 ). As this happens we are of better service to those around us, because Jesus Christ was the highest servant of all and served ALL in perfection.



I wrote this message as God emphasized to me the importance of having the Light always present when searching. As we seek God daily, As we walk as God’s Light in the World, Let us do so knowing that we have a True Hope, and True Gospel and a True Savior that is Jesus Christ. I hope this encourages you as you walk forward a Light in the World!

20 For all the promises of God in Him are Yes, and in Him Amen, to the glory of God through us.

The Him being mentioned is Jesus Christ, so believers in Jesus Christ have access to ALL The Promises of God. It's beautiful to think that in Him we have so much, and as we look through the Promises I pray it encourages you in your relationship with Him and walking out for Him.

Fruits of the Spirit - Servant Heart ( Part 1 )

Firstly, I have been very busy lately, while I have been writing messages, I haven’t had a chance to upload any due to some computer issues, hopefully from now on I can do so more consistently. Hope you are all well and doing wonderfully by God’s Grace.

I Thank God for this message, it’s one that has been carrying me and helping me in servant-hood, and drawing me deeper into relation with Our Eternal God.

So this is me really just sharing my thoughts on Galatians 5:22, and how it relates to us as servants. It’s going to be broken into a few parts to avoid throwing out to much at once.

I call this Fruits of the Spirit – A Servant Heart, because as I look more and more into the Fruits of the Spirit I see that all the of the Fruits of the Spirit better us at serving one another, I would say this would take place second after the Fruits allow us to better Love God. It brings to mind the word’s of Jesus Christ in Matthew 22:37 when He is speaking about the two greatest commandments.

37 Jesus said to him, “ ‘You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.’ 38 This is the first and great commandment. 39 And the second is like it: ‘You shall love your neighbour as yourself.’

The Fruits of the Spirit are such a wondrously precious gift from God unto us, through those Gifts we gain such an understanding and deepening of our relationship with God. There are 9 Fruits of the Spirit, These are found in Galatians 5:22 -

22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law

I find myself as I walk around in life, seeking God in both the small and big situations, trying to be Faithfully seek Him in all ( although I fall short at this ), that through doing so, God really does reveal more of His heart towards the big and small situations. Especially when it comes to personal relationships. God is a passionately loving God.

Jesus Christ only used the word desire twice when speaking of Himself both times He was talking about Desiring relationship with the disciples in Luke 22:15

15 Then He said to them, “With fervent desire I have desired to eat this Passover with you before I suffer;

And the other is in John 17:24

24 “Father, I desire that they also whom You gave Me may be with Me where I am, that they may behold My glory which You have given Me; for You loved Me before the foundation of the world.

Both intensely sweeping scriptures, if you have a moment have a read in context, beautifully revealing chapters as to the Heart of Our Lord.
God is passionate about having a relationship with each and every one of us. God is our Counsel, Great in His way, on Him we can be rest assured that we place our faith in a Good God.
As we walk through life, and as we grow in our relationship seeking God, submitting both the big and small to God, God leads us and teaches us. As a Father would teach His Son, so does Our Heavenly Father teach us ( His children ), whom He has begotten through Jesus Christ. That we through Him may learn the ways of His kingdom and grow closer to His Heart.

Over the past few weeks, I have encountered allot of trying situations, all of which have not been directly in my life but rather in the life of others around me. We as a Church and Body of Christ are to serve one another and serve the world. Saved to Serve.
Over the past few weeks, I have encountered great grievance’s for which I am grateful , but grievance’s none-the-less. At this God has been showing me how He weeps over so many, both believers and non-believers.

God is an all-knowing God, but God is not distant from us. He is graciously and long-sufferingly with us, and the hardships we face, He is also there with us. We so often go through hard times and don’t turn to Him. This is such a great pain, I have experienced this in the smallest degree, but for God who is intimately linked with each and every one of us, As Jesus Christ said. He wants to relieve us of our burdens.

It is similar to this, A Father witnessing his child go into the dark alleys everyday and shoot up heroin and all kinds of dangerous drugs and behaviour, progressively getting worse. Seeking escape but finding none, progressing worse and worse, moving further and further away from the Father out of fear of judgement. The Fathers intentions are not to judge the heart of the child but to have mercy upon her and take her burdens upon himself, so that she may move past the addictions and hardships of life.

If she would turn to God and place trust in him, He would surely and faithfully do all he could to help her walk the path that is right for her.

So much more is Our Heavenly Father for us, He has served us in the greatest of ways by Sending His one and only Son, Jesus Christ into the world, so that we may give up our illness’s and our sinful ways, turn to God that He might have mercy upon us and relieve us of our burdens and move us onto the right path. Salvation is something only God is able to do and He made a way for us in Jesus Christ.

The fruits of the spirit for us believers, is an enabler. It is God’s empowerment in us changing our nature into a nature similar to Jesus Christ, the Bible actually says “likeness” ( Romans 8:29 ). This likeness is key to us learning how the Fruits of the Spirit is related to our servant hood.

The greatest servant of all, is Our Lord Jesus Christ, He served the entire world through His Love for us. If we look at how He served His disciples we can witness and see how each and all of these fruits were present in His life.

Firstly,

Servant Heart of Love –

1 John 4:9-10
9 In this the love of God was manifested toward us, that God has sent His only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through Him. 10 In this is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son to be the propitiation for our sins.

Every action Jesus did, could readily be understood as an action of love, from the small to the big. Even when He was charging people outside of the temple for selling goods, it was out of the Love of God’s House also for the correction of the people who were selling so that they could repent and move forward. The Love of Jesus Christ we witness is so frequently if not always in a servant context, Ultimately Serving God.

Servant Heart of Joy -

This one fascinated me, because I knew Jesus had Joy in Him, but I couldn’t put into words or fully in knowledge of what made Jesus Joyful. I was astounded at what I found.

Luke 10:21 –
21 In that hour Jesus rejoiced in the Spirit and said, “I thank You, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that You have hidden these things from the wise and prudent and revealed them to babes. Even so, Father, for so it seemed good in Your sight.

To set the context, this is just after the 70 disciples returned and they were rejoicing because when Jesus Christ sent them out, He sent them out in His Power and they were overjoyed because of the wonderful works that were done through them, so they came back super joyed at the work of God through them. Jesus Christ corrects them and says rejoice in the fact your names are written in the Book of Life.

I find this amazing, I do wonderful whether Jesus Christ was rejoicing because of the works done through them or because they had returned faithfully or because they had served God.

In either case Jesus Christ is rejoicing in seeing the Kingdom of God manifest, I think there is allot to learn from this, and I’ve been taught a great deal through this also.

When God moves whether it seems small or big, we should be rejoicing with Him, with Jesus Christ. It’s amazing scripture, also paints a picture of us, and the importance of that relationship with God, we go out into the world for Him but we return to Him rejoicing.

Faithfulness

















Hey, Sorry for a lack of posts lately, God’s been guiding me amazingly, For which I am so very grateful. Over the last month God has revealed to things to me, that by His Grace I will be unpacking for the rest of my life. We Serve a Truly Wonderful God.

One of the things that God has really been showing me by His Word and Influence is His Faithfulness. Galatians 5:22-23 talks about the 9 Fruits of The Spirit. One of which is Faithfulness.

What is Faithfulness ?

If we look to the dictionary we find answers along the lines of -


A quality of being faithful ( in reference to a person’s Character )

We usually go to things like loyality and Monogamy ( having one partner ) when we think about Faithfulness. It is a big statement to say someone is Faithful, It is truly a Wonderful Aspect of a Person’s Character should they Truly Bear Faithfulness. True Faithfulness Stems from God, By our own efforts we can never achieved Faithfulness. This is what Paul unpacks when he speaks of the Fruits of The Spirit. God working in us and brewing His Nature in Us. What a Great Privilege and Honour.

I looked up Faithfulness in Strongs and Found such a wonderful Truth of the nature of Faithfulness, Transcending that which we usually associate with Faithfulness.

When we look up the word Faithfulness in Strongs ( Pistis ) we find it talks about Moral Conviction, A statement that is made in relation to Faithfulness is this.

“The Truthfulness of God” in line with this statement where others to do with having a reliance upon Christ for Salvation and having a consistency towards that. Being assured in the Truth of the Gospel and the Hope it Brings.

We can unpack the Truthfulness of God to such a great extent and still not of scratched the surface. Truthfully, God is Eternal Truth. Truth does not bend with time, nor change in circumstance, What is True now will forever be True. God’s Faithfulness ties into His Truthfulness.

To be Faithful we must tell the Truth. It’s often said we must be Lovers of the Truth. I’ve always seen this as saying “We Must Be Lovers of God”. For in that Relationship and Through Loving God, We are enable to be Truthful according to His Truth.

John 8:31-32 –

31To the Jews who had believed him, Jesus said, "If you hold to my teaching, you are really my disciples. 32Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free."

The Stem of Everything in our lives is God. Blessed are we by His Grace that He is So Faithful to us.

We are taught by His Word ( Throughout the Old Testament and the New testament ) how Faithful God is to His People. Though we have turned away from Him many times, He is so Faithful and So Willing to open opportunities to us to be reconciled to Him. So much so that Jesus Christ was sent on Our Behalf.

So how can we be Faithful ?

I think as Jesus Christ said in John 8:31-32, Through following His Teachings, Which ultimately were to following God’s Will, He led the perfect and absolute example of this. We are led into His Family as Promised by Jesus Christ in Matthew 12:46-50. We can take this as a Promise because Jesus Christ being God, Being Absolute Truth. He does not need to say “I Promise” to make a statement secure. His Very Word is Highest Level of Promise we will ever Experience. He being Truth, Lived in Truth.

The world we live in undoubtedly is full of false teachings, Both the secular world and the Christian world. We must be Faithful to God above all else, How do we achieve this in a world full of mixed message. One of the Greatest Gifts we have is The Word of God. The Absolutely True Word of God Completely Uncompromised. In that we know that there is One Hope in the world we live in. Evident this is in the world we live in, that one solution that can lift anyone out of any circumstance is Jesus Christ. To be Faithful we must know who we are being Faithful to and for what cause.

Is Jesus Christ Your Saviour ?

Do You Accept That Jesus Christ Paid For Your Sins ?

Do You Accept The Word of God that is The Bible As Absolute Truth ?

Do You Accept God’s Nature as Absolute Good ?

We serve a God who is so Loving He sent His Son on Our Behalf by His Mercy, that We may have Salvation, By His Absolute Glory He is Ultimate Truth and Absolutely Good. There is no other way but by Jesus Christ. By this we Know not only that We Have True Hope but that We can Faithfulness and Truthfully Offer this Hope to Others.

It is important we understand who we are being faithful to, Because it’s by this understand we walk in God’s Will for us in Sharing that Hope that is found in His Son Jesus Christ.

The world is the way the world is because of The Fall, We have a generation that is the continuation of previous generations that is in Need of Saving. There are many people looking for Hope in all sorts of false solutions. There is only one option that is Eternally Faithful. The concept of Faithfulness is such a Beautiful aspect of God’s nature, It allows us to Rejoice and Truthfully spread God’s message without a Question in our mind, that if that Person Earnestly sincerely decided to seek God, God would respond to them by His Faithfulness.

Faithfulness enables us through our desires to live according to God’s Will and God’s will impacting our lives through The Holy Spirit. That we may move away from our Selfish desires and Align the desires of our heart with That of Which God desires us to have.

Modern teachings, don’t lead to the practise of Faithfulness, This is why it is important to know what you are Faithful to. Faithfulness in the world has it’s result in darkness and eventually Death, But Faithfulness in God has it’s result in the Light of His Son and onto Eternal Life. Since in faithfulness we need Strength to be able to carry our actions beyond ourselves it is important that we acknowledge our need of God. In all circumstances we are in need of God.

He is Faithful

Not only does this benefit other but also for Ourselves. God has made many promises through the Bible I would like to share some.

Luke 21:17-18 - "All men will hate you because of me. But not a hair of your head will perish."

James 4:8 - "Come near to God and he will come near to you."

Psalm 32:8 - "I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you and watch over you."

John 8:12 - "When Jesus spoke again to the people, he said, "I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life."

James 1:5 - "If any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to him."

1 John 1:9 - "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness."

Romans 10:9 - "That if you confess with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved."

God’s promises have came through Prophets, The Apostles and through Himself by Jesus Christ.

God is Faithful to You, Do not Discount His Faithfulness For Your Life. He is Faithful to You in your moments of Fear (Jeremiah 1:8 ) Having all our plans ordained according to God’s Will, having His Goodness Instruct our lives, Romans 8:28.

We serve a God who is Faithful to All that we Are, All our concerns –

Let him have all your worries and cares, for he is always thinking about you and watching everything that concerns you.

Deut 31:6 –

6 Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the LORD your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you."

Hebrews13:5 –

5Keep your lives free from the love of money and be content with what you have, because God has said,
"Never will I leave you;
never will I forsake you."

Defining Strength : Fruits Of The Spirit


Hey All, I Hope all is well, I’ve been quite for a while. I’ve been preparing for this message, God has been opening His Word to me. I’ve been seeking a definition for Strength. I’ve been trying to comprehend what it means to be Strong in Christ.

I asked a number of my Brothers and Sisters in Christ, The response was as I thought it may be, To be Strong is to have Faith in Christ.

When we look to The Bible, It is countless accounts that further verify this. It’s incredible. It’s never about what we can do alone, It’s always about what Jesus Christ has done for us, then in following Him what we can do according to His Will. The Focus is always on God and God’s Will. By nature we are short sighted and often partially blind. By His Grace we see.

As content as I was with this message, I felt as though. There is allot more to this point. When we look at the world around us, We can draw similarities between the Strength Christ gives as to that we may receive from other relationships. Though not on the same scale but snippets of that can be seen. A Child who performs better in the eyes of His/Her parents, Friends encouraging each other through adversity and similar scenario’s.

Jesus Christ Faithful Above All Else, Provides us with a True Strength. That overcomes all circumstances of the world. We often more often than not, look to other people to provide us with Strength, While we are adequate at supplying “temporary” strength, We are Not Faithful nor Strong enough to do this task. In our own nature we very quickly grow tiresome and become unfaithful to that person who once seeked a sense of Strength in that relationship.

So where does this place us ?

We as Christians are saved and set apart from this world for a reason. ( Romans 6:22 ) We as Christians are called to be Salt and Light in the World ( Matthew 5:13-16 ).

We strive to be the best we can be in Jesus Christ, That we may Abide by God’s Will at all times. We know that we are weak in flesh, We know very well our weaknesses. Yet we often shy away from our Strength. Paul wrote in Philippians 4:12-13 –

12I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty. I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want. 13I can do everything through him who gives me strength.

The Story of Paul is a beautiful one, God took someone who hunted after Christian and by God’s Grace made him into a Leader Amongst Lost people for The Gospel. Paul suffered Greatly for His Faith in Jesus Christ

Acts 9:15-16 -

15But the Lord said to Ananias, "Go! This man is my chosen instrument to carry my name before the Gentiles and their kings and before the people of Israel. 16I will show him how much he must suffer for my name."

Throughout all of the sufferings Paul endured he kept faith in Jesus Christ, He warns us of Boasting about our own Strength. In this passage we also get insight into the suffering he has been exposed to and remained Faithful.

So we have One Strength we can Boast in. This Strength Is not of our own work, But by God’s Hand. By Jesus Christ. This Strength is God’s Grace. (2 Corinthians 3:4-6 ), We must be Lovers of The Truth. We must be careful not to boast in ourselves but in Jesus Christ. What have we as individuals, a Society, Nation or World Achieved ?. Paul wrote in 2 Corinthians 12:9-10 –

9But he said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness." Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ's power may rest on me. 10That is why, for Christ's sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong.

He expresses that our weaknesses we are Strong in Christ. This led me to very much explore the meaning of weakness. The Word in Hebrew is Astheneia which literally means feebleness. If someone is feeble, they are in a position where they have to be dependent on another. This is beautiful because it means that we must depend on something. At My Church which is Hillsong London, We had a message recently about how we are genetically programmed to be in relationships with other people. We have a constant dependence, which is beautiful news to a world that promotes “Self-Independence”. Some that also go one step further and say it is weak to depend on anyone else but yourself.

Paul wrote Inspired by God. That it is in that weakness, Christ’s Powers comes into us. Power . The word Power in Strongs is dunamis which means miraculous power, strength or might work. Truly a Gift from God.

So we can go one step further and say, Weakness is in fact a Blessing in the sense, it allows us or gives us the opportunity to depend on God. It is Truly Amazing to be Expectantly Dependent on God. Only by His Strength can we be Strong in the World.

To place your Faith in Jesus Christ.

This led me to the question – What are the Characteristics of Strength ?

When we look at Jesus Christ’s Character we see many aspects of this -

He is Loving

He is Merciful

He is Just

He is Truthful

He is Courageous

He is Humble

He is Faithful

He is Wise

He is Forgiving

He is Dependable

He is generous

He is Pure

He is of Encouragement

He is Attentive to us

He is Compassionate

We could list for so many characteristics for Jesus Christ. He is all the things of Philippians 4:8 and more, He is all the things of Galatians 5:22-23 and more. He is all the things of Revelations and more. Revelation which first describes Jesus Christ as “The Faithful Witness”, “The First born from the Dead”, The Ruler of The Kings of the Earth”. The many Titles given to Jesus Christ all speak of His Character and His Godly Nature. Each one is a Tremendously Beautiful Statement.

His Character and Nature, Is entirely True and is of Great Benefit to Others.

This is a revelation that occurred while teaching my little brother about Strength. My little brother recently got placed into a compromising position, where a fight may of occurred. While telling him why it was wrong to be violent and how people attitudes vary in this area. Galatians 5:19-26 seemed to be a great place to talk about the Characteristics of Strength in Christ.

First Galatians 5:19-21, Which talks about the negative and toxic characteristics that pollute us. These characteristics are Birthed out of Sin.

19The acts of the sinful nature are obvious: sexual immorality, impurity and debauchery; 20idolatry and witchcraft; hatred, discord, jealousy, fits of rage, selfish ambition, dissensions, factions 21and envy; drunkenness, orgies, and the like. I warn you, as I did before, that those who live like this will not inherit the kingdom of God.

All these things do not benefit anyone. All these characteristics are harmful not only to yourself but to those around you. Paul goes further to write that those who live like this will not inherit the Kingdom of God.

Sin is toxic to ourselves and those around us. It has no purpose in our being.

When we walk in God’s Grace, When we walk in Jesus Christ. We no longer walk in Sin and Darkness, Rather we walk in Jesus Christ’s Grace, We Walk in The Holy Spirit.

We no longer rely on ourselves, We have a Saviour and His name is Jesus Christ, He is Our Strength, He wants to Breed a new Character in us. This is what the Fruits of the Spirit Talks about. Galatians 5:22-26.

22But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law.24Those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the sinful nature with its passions and desires. 25Since we live by the Spirit, let us keep in step with the Spirit. 26Let us not become conceited, provoking and envying each other.

When we look up Fruit in Strongs, we get a variety of means. When we following each meaning to it’s root we end up at a word - airō

In Hebrew which has a intense meaning. Which changed my perception on how we receive and live our lives in the Holy Spirit. We find a variety of words

So in place fruit we can also find these words which help us understand what it means to be in the fruit of the spirit.

  • Advance
  • Arise
  • Bear
  • Bring Forth
  • Carry
  • Desire
  • Exalt
  • Marry
  • Receive

It’s interesting to view, because we find there is a great depth to the word. I believe to sum it up, it does mean Growth by The Holy Spirit.

Following this message, I want to share what I have found out about the 9 Fruits of The Spirit. I hope this message and the messages to come inspire and aid you on Your Walk with Jesus Christ.

Going 100% For God !!!

I’m very excited about this message; It’s one that has carried me by the Strength of God over the last few weeks. A revelation that came to me in Prayer, Which I Thank God for greatly, Excited to share this with you, So I hope this message benefits you.


A few weeks back, I was in prayer about my relationship with God and living my life through all He has done for me. I was saddened because I realised I was doing so much by my own strength and not Relying on God, Despite all the opportunities He has created for me. So while in prayer I was asking God how I could be more for Him, How I could devote myself more to Him. Then a revelation came onto me, which is what I want to write about.


What Is Going 100% For God ?


In all our circumstances, situations and moments, There is an opportunity. You could call it a choice, Though there are many paths. I’ve come to understand that if you were standing at the centre point of a circle and had to follow one of the 360 degree’s to be set free, Following Jesus Christ would be the same as following one of those 360 degree’s, It would be the only point at which you can actually be set free from the circle. The other options would be a lot more open, and you could jump from one degree to another degree. But in choosing and Accepting Jesus Christ into your life, You walk down one Degree ( Path ). The Only Path that secures your Salvation.


The Opportunity of Choice is a beautiful thing, We may have many choices to make, or as little as 2, the point I’m trying to illustrate is. We must follow Jesus Christ’s Example and be Led by His Grace in those decisions.


So you may not see how this is directly relevant to our message, Let me further explain. We constantly try to go by our own strength, It’s a constantly struggle trying to reach a point of reliance upon God and being in a point of being truly set free. It is such a strong desire of mine, To have all my answers to choices I face to be one’s led by God and I hope it is one of yours to. How beautiful it is to think, that All the choices and dilemmas you face are opportunities for you to rely on God for an answer.


So we want to grow to a point of relying on God in all circumstances, So we must be aware of our position before God. “through him all things are possible”. Through God, Acting Through What He has done and shared with us, All Things Are Possible to us as followers of Christ.

God Shared His immeasurable Love, immeasurable Justice and immeasurable Mercy. It is by these Three we are enabled to Walk Forward By Jesus Christ. If we remove God, we remove our strength.


I am a man, As a man, You can see my weakness, If you can see my weakness you can see my Strength, For in seeing my weakness, you also see my need to rely on God.


My weakness is my Greatest Strength. It is only when we are Weak that we are Truly Strong, Paul talks beautifully about this 2 Corinthians 11-12


We are striving to reach a point of 100% reliance on God, We want to give 100% to God in the sense of a race, you would want to give it “your best”. In relation to God things are slightly different, Were as we have the prize already. We are just awaiting the Victory Ceremony. So what position does that put us in. A true winner inspires others to win. He does not seek victory just for himself but for others as well.


So while we may have “won” Salvation, We must ALWAYS Acknowledge, It is by What God Has Done For Us, Not what we have done for Him. We As Winners, Must inspires Others to Win.


This affects Every aspect of our lives. People observe you everyday, So how can we make ourselves Good Representatives of Jesus Christ, Jesus Christ tells us to love our enemies.


( Warning this is going to be a long message )


By reading The Holy Bible, We learn about Jesus Christ, By being in relationship with Him, We begin to realise things about the world around us, We more so begin to have more and more understanding of the Nature of God ( though we will never understand ), We begin to experience His Love, Mercy and Justice.


About a month and a half ago, After a very awakening prayer night. The next morning I went for a walk, As I walked around my perspective had changed, It was as though everyone I walked past and saw was connected to me, Although they were stressed/troubled as many people of this world are, Many would have cursed God. I felt such a great sadness for them, For I knew many of them were not in a relationship with God. Upon reflection, I understand now that God was showing me, just a snippet of what He see’s and feels but so much more intensely. After this I realised, in human kind. There is no enemy to God. While in the spiritual world there may be, As humans we are SOO Blessed, God Love’s us so much. He has opened His Heart to us, It is spoken about so often. We will never understand how much God loves us. It saddens me to think how some people treat Him.


If you were to think of your Dad as a police office, Who passionately wanted to save people from making bad choices, Though the people around you constantly insulted him and distrusted him. The only thing your father wants to do is give them a hand and show love towards them. Save them from there sinful nature. Instead these people constantly fighting against him, Even so your father is constantly reaching His hand out to them. Constantly making opportunity for them, to be saved.


How many times purer is God in His intentions, than what you perceived just now, How much more does God love the sinner.


Jesus Came to earth to tend to the Sick, Not dwell in the homes of the righteous.


I have greatly been sidetracked in my message but it is all relevant. We must be so brutally honest with ourselves before God. We are seek Truth, That is Why we follow God because He is The Truth of the World and Heaven and All in existence. In Him No lie will ever dwell, His word has no Cracks. With Him there is no fault.


If we have a fear of preaching to people on the street/office/friends. We have to be Honest with ourselves, We must acknowledge that and Cast out that Fear in the Strength that was Guaranteed to us by Jesus Christ. If we are scared of tending to the Sick because we are afraid of becoming Ill ourselves, We must Cast that Fear out in the Strength we find in Jesus Christ.


I would like to again quote one of my favourite passages.


Romans 8 :28-31

28And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him,[j] who[k] have been called according to his purpose. 29For those God foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the likeness of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brothers. 30And those he predestined, he also called; those he called, he also justified; those he justified, he also glorified.
31What, then, shall we say in response to this? If God is for us, who can be against us?

This is such a powerful question. “If God is For us, Who can be against us ?”, If we dwell at little deep, which Paul does. What circumstance of this world, can separate us from God ?, He is saying, what in this world, can come before God ?.

We often think the problems we face are “new”, This is where the whole idea of changing the Bible to suit the Times thinking comes from. Does Truth change with Time ?

The answer is no, Truth does not change with time. We shouldn’t fool ourselves into thinking the Bible isn’t Relevant because the circumstances we face, aren’t circumstances they faced 2000 years ago. This is a false doctorine we must separate ourselves from. It is exactly the same. The same battle battle that were victory was assured to us, Goes on, awaiting for world to acknowledge that they are victorious.


Do Christians not still face persecution ? Are we still not tempted by the devices of the enemy ? Does the world no longer sin ? Have we find salvation through our own means ? Are people not unfaithful to the wives/husbands ? Do people still not abuse others ?


To say that the Bible is not relevant to today, Is to say that, We have found salvation through our own works. That the wisdom of God has “expired”

We accept the Bible as Absolute Truth, because it is the Word of God. As we grow as Followers of Jesus Christ, We Grow in understanding also, Grow in Wisdom and Love which He shares with us.


We have to understand the devices that, prevent us from exacting God’s will. Fear is a big one, We often allow fear to take control of our lives.


This is how this all ties in with our message.


All these circumstances are opportunities for us to Seek God to guide us. We Are Conquers in Jesus Christ!!!, That such a powerful Statement to Have Confidence in. If there is one thing you can take from this message it is this.


“You are a Conqueror in the Name of Jesus Christ, By His Grace You are set apart and ABOVE all things of this World.”


Proclaim this in all your adversities. Give a 100% to God, Every moment you feel weak remind yourself You are a Conqueror in the MIGHTY Name of Jesus Christ and You are Going to Give 100% to God and Act Through His Grace!


If God is For You who can come Against You ?


What circumstance in your life is So bad that God would not love you ? Or so big that God can not lift you from it ? Who in your life has a bigger influence that God Himself ?


Did you earn salvation or was it given to you ?

Did you earn victory or was it given to you ?


There is so many questions of this nature we can ask, The answer of which is, It was given to you By the Grace of God.


So if we are Conquerors, Believe You Are A Conqueror.


I Say Confidently To You, Proclaim Jesus Christ in All Your Circumstances and See Victory.


You Are A Conqueror, Give 100% To God. Humble Yourself but Know You Have A Strength Given By Grace, That Is ABOVE All Else. A Love Rises You Above All Evil. A Love That Rises You Above All Hardships, A Love That Rises You Above All Human Conviction.


God Loves us, God is Just in our lives and God is Merciful upon us.
